Your calendar age counts birthdays. Your biological age estimates how old your body behaves, read from chemical marks on your DNA. Younger DNA measures it from a finger-prick blood sample you collect at home.
Biological age is an estimate of how far your body has aged, compared with people of the same calendar age. Two 45-year-olds can differ by ten years or more. The most established way to estimate it is through DNA methylation: chemical tags on your DNA that shift in predictable ways as you age and respond to lifestyle, illness and stress.
Scientists call the models that turn methylation into an age an epigenetic clock. The first clocks were published in 2013. Newer ones also estimate how fast you are aging right now and how old individual organ systems look.
Studies on exercise, diet, sleep, smoking cessation and weight loss have shown measurable shifts in epigenetic aging markers, though effect sizes vary and research is ongoing. That is why we recommend testing twice: once to get a baseline and once six months after a change, using the same array and report version so the numbers are comparable.
Epigenetic clocks are trained and validated on thousands of people and correlate closely with calendar age, which is how they are checked. The difference between your biological and calendar age is the useful signal, and it is an estimate with a margin of error. Results are for wellness information and do not diagnose disease.
| Test | What you get | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Younger DNA Age | Biological age, pace of aging, 11 body-system ages, raw data | €299 |
| Younger DNA Health | Methylation-based markers for inflammation, metabolism, nutrition and exposures | €299 |
| Age + Health | Both reports from one sample | €449 |
| Annual plan | Age + Health twice a year, comparison report | €799 |
The Younger DNA Age test costs €299 at the founding price, including VAT, shipping both ways and lab analysis. Age + Health costs €449.
Younger DNA uses a small finger-prick blood sample on a collection card, which you take at home.
About four weeks after the lab receives your sample.
We plan to ship across the EU, the UK, Switzerland and Norway. Tell us your country when you reserve; the final list is confirmed before the founding batch ships.
